Almost every song lover of the world knows the name of the great English singer and song writer, Amy Winehouse. Amy is famous all over the world for her fabulous music tracks, which are mix of jazz, soul and R&B.
Frank, the first album of Amy was praised by critic in United Kingdom and was a Mercury Prize nominee. She became popular all over the world over night, when her second album Back to Black won five Grammy Awards out of six nominations.
Born in a Jewish family in the Southgate area of London, Amy had a great interest for jazz from her early childhood. Her father Mitchell was a taxi driver and mother Janis, a pharmacist. Mitchell was a bathroom singer and the first music teacher of Amy.
Amy joined Susi Earnshaw Theatre School at an age of nine for training on her grand mothers suggestion. She joined full time training program at Sylvia Young Theatre School after stayed four long years at the former; but, unfortunately kicked out from the training center for a funny cause, piercing her nose.
Her first appearance was in The First Show, along with her classmates of Sylvia Young School. After being kicked out from Sylvia Young Theater School, she learnt from many other training institutions like Ashmole School, Croydon School, and BRIT School.
She got the first musical instrument of her life, a guitar, at the age of thirteen. After that, she never looked back. She began writing music from the year of fourteen. She started her working career at World Entertainment News Network as a showbiz journalist. After that she stepped up one by one in the ladder of success and get popular all over the UK and there after all over the world. Now her fans wait for her new album to be released with great passion.
